    Preheat the oven to 160 °C fan, 180 °C conventional, gas mark 4 and line a 12 hole bun tin with cupcake cases.

    Make the cupcakes: Sift the flour and cocoa into a bowl and add the chopped Flake. Put the butter, caster sugar and red colouring into another bowl and whisk together until light and fluffy. Gradually whisk in the eggs. Add the flour mixture and fold in gently until thoroughly combined. Divide between the cupcake cases. Immediately bake for 18-20 minutes or until well risen and firm. Cool on a wire rack.

    Make the frosting: Gradually beat the icing sugar and butter together until smooth and fluffy. Add the Philadelphia and beat briefly until combined. Pipe swirls of frosting onto each cupcake.

    Cut each of the 6 Flake 99’s in half horizontally and half again vertically. Use these Flake pieces to decorate the cupcakes.

  • 100 g olive oil, softened
  • 100 g Philadelphia Original
